Grand Total $0.00

Backing the next generation of Ōtautahi artists.

This February marks 15 years since the 2011 earthquakes changed Christchurch forever. For us, it’s a moment to remember where we began – and why we care about backing what comes next.

Backing the next generation of Ōtautahi artists.

Christchurch is the place where we found our wings. And that’s part of the reason why we felt such a strong responsibility to get involved and help out in the rebuild. After the quakes, we opened a pop-up cafe in Re:START, the container mall, serving coffee to tired tradies and volunteers. We even created a Re:START coffee blend, with a portion of sales giving back to the rebuild of Christchurch’s Court Theatre.

15 years on, we still feel that same responsibility and care for the place and people of Christchurch.

It's why we’ve partnered with The Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi to fund a dedicated Springboard Award for an emerging Ōtautahi artist. The $20,000 award helps to support the artist plus a year-long mentorship with an established artist.

Re:START was about backing the rebuild. This partnership and award is about backing the next generation – the creative people who will shape where this wonderful city heads next.

We can’t wait to see it.
